2. The Interface Between Straiv & keyBoy
As soon as the Check-in is successfully completed, Straiv communicates with the keyBoy system in the background. There are two options to suit your hotel:
Fully Automated: An individual pickup code is automatically generated via the API interface. Thanks to prior mapping, Straiv knows exactly which compartment holds the key for the corresponding room number.
Manual: Your team generates a code directly on the keyBoy device and stores it in the Straiv Reservation Manager. This code is then securely transmitted to the guest.
3. Guest Messaging via WhatsApp
This is the decisive step for a smooth guest experience. Instead of searching for the pickup code in an email, Straiv proactively sends the code via WhatsApp (available via Straiv Guest Messaging). Your guest has the code for the key safe exactly where they need it: in their preferred messenger app.
4. Uncomplicated Key Retrieval
Upon arrival, the guest enters the received code into the keyBoy. The corresponding box opens, or the physical key is released. The guest can now move into their room without any waiting time and regardless of whether your reception is currently staffed.
