With the “Digital Now” funding program, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) supports small and medium-sized enterprises in professional digitization. The investment funding aims to make companies fit for the future.
Especially in the hotel industry, there are currently many opportunities to use this funding. Digital check-in, contactless hotel services and digital registration forms, for example, are important topics that drive hotels forward in terms of digitization and are an ideal fit for the funding program. One of the prerequisites for funding is that digitization can make work more efficient and processes simpler.
Who can apply for the funding?
Are you interested in a Digital Guest Directory or the Digital Check-in / Registration Form? You already use our Digital Guest Directory and are interested in the Digital Check-in? You use the basic functions of one of our solutions and would like to upgrade? You use the Digital Registration Form or Check-in and would also like to use the Digital Guest Directory for your guests?

How can I apply for the Digital Now funding program?

What is the Digital Now support program?
The BMWi supports the digitization of SMEs (=small and medium-sized enterprises). The program offers financial subsidies and is intended to encourage companies to invest more in digital technologies and in training their employees. Companies can submit the application online, and a total of 40 million euros is available until the end of 2020. The funding program will run until the end of 2023 with a total of 203 million euros.
For which investment can the subsidy be used?
Support module 1: “Investments in digital technologies”.
This module supports investments in software and hardware and in digital technologies and related processes and changes in the company. In the hotel industry, for example, these include solutions for digital check-in or contactless hotel services such as the digital guest folder.
Support module 2: “Investments in employee qualification”.
This module supports companies in training employees in the use of digital technologies.
What requirements must hotels meet?
- 3 to 499 employees
- Permanent establishment or branch office in Germany
- Digitization plan: type and number of measures and the objectives
- Project must not have started at the time of approval
- Project must be implemented within 12 months of approval
Who can apply for the Digital Now funding program?
Small and medium-sized companies from all industries (=hotel and tourism industry) with at least 3 – 499 employees who are planning digitalization, for example investments in software/hardware, such as the digital solutions from straiv by CODE2ORDER for digital hotel check-in and contactless hotel services, such as the digital guest folder and / or employee qualification.
How much is the subsidy?
The maximum subsidy is €50,000 per company. The minimum funding amount is €17,000 in module 1 and €3,000 in module 2.
The funding rate varies depending on the size of the company:
Up to 50 employees: up to 50
Up to 250 employees: up to 45
Up to 499 employees: up to 40%.
